My brothers kind of have a knack for buying me awesome kitchen related gifts that I lo-o-o-ove and use over and over again. Like the juicer I didn’t think I was going to get. Ever since Frode (formerly known as Freddly, also known as Cred by some of his particularly creative friends, and usually know as Fred – my broheem) bought me this beauty for that magical (stars twinkling, bellies full of Woodberry Kitchen, BMW drivers at the valet being if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it) birthday night back in October – I’ve been juicing like a maniac. In between sessions of shoveling Dark Chocolate Truffles and Indian food into my face. I figure if I’m going to live to see my great grand children at the ripe old age of 90, I better drink some seriously healthy stuff – somewhat regularly. And also, FRESH JUICE TASTES AMAZING, PEOPLE, AMAZING.
(Sure, yeah, sometimes I make a particularly not-delicious juice like the time I used Broccoli Greens instead of Kale and made my mom drink the whole thing because OHMYWORD the aftertaste.)
So when Alexa, from Martha Stewart Living, asked if I wanted to try some recipes from Clean Slate, I was like UM YES I DO PLEASE!!! The entire cookbook is gooorgeous. Really clean recipes using short lists of whole ingredients. Beautiful, clean pictures with vibrant dishes. And 4 full-page spreads (aka 8 pages) of 24 juice & smoothie recipes. Thus, this incredible Grapefruit Carrot Ginger Juice. This Grapefruit Carrot Ginger Juice is
a mouthful full of vital nutrients to boost your immune system, protect your vision, support your digestion, and detox your liver.
It’s simple. It’s healthy. It’s delicious.
And yes, there will be a giveaway in my next Clean Slate post, so stay tuned. And, for now, get a sneak preview of the cookbook on Amazon.
